Seed Money Distribution Ceremony to Startups by Information, Science & Technology Department

February 25, 2020: The Cheque Distribution Ceremony of Sindh Research Incubation Center (SRIC) Batch-2 held at IBA City Campus. SRIC – a project by Information Science & Technology Department, Government of Sindh in collaboration with IBA Karachi – is a Technology Incubator with an incubation process of 12 months.

The Chief Guest of the Ceremony was Minister for Information Science & Technology Department, Nawab Muhammad Taimoor Talpur. Secretary, Information Science & Technology Department, Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Naseem, Director General Information Science & Technology Department Mr. Muhammad Yousuf, Advisor to Minister for Information Science & Technology Department Syed Zainulabedin Shah and Director ICT & CICT IBA Karachi Mr. Imran Batada along with several C-level executives from industry attended the ceremony.

During the ceremony, the incubates of SRIC demonstrated presentations which portrayed progress of their start-ups under. After the presentations, cheques were distribute by the Government of Sindh among the start-ups in order to assist them financially.

On this occasion, Minister for Information Science & Technology Department, Nawab Muhammad Taimoor Talpur said that SRIC project is part of our manifesto to promote entrepreneurship culture in our young population so they may play their part in the prosperity of the Province and get it a distinctive standing in the global economy. 

Director General Information Science & Technology Department Mr. Muhammad Yousuf in his address said, “SRIC Project is an effort from Information Science & Technology Department of Sindh in collaboration with IBA Karachi to support the aspiring entrepreneurs. The startups of SRIC will create job opportunities, new innovation in the market, alleviation of poverty and enhancing the social investment or trade.”
