INTRODUCTION
Information Science & Technology Department Government of Sindh is striving for human capital development exclusively for youth with a special emphasis on empowering women of Sindh, keeping in view of this objective the IS&T department recently conducted Goggle Career Certificates (GCC) scholarship Program in collaboration with Tech Valley Google for Education partner in Pakistan.
This program has proven to be an effective means of up skilling and enabling career advancement for those individuals who are either studying in IT Departments or have passion for IT studies/certification. This program aims at encouraging women to participate in these scholarships to bridge the gender gap and preparing women IT workforce.
Secretary IS&T Department Mr. Asif Ikram, Secretary Universities & Boards, Secretary College Education Department & other partners signed MOU with Tech valley & Google for this program in presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sindh, Chief Secretary Sindh, Dr. Sohail Rajput and Mrs. Tanzila Ume Habiba, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for IS&T Department aimed at offering various training course to contribute to human capital development in the capital development in the areas of the Technology sector
The user friendly scholarship program designed by Google, this self-paced online training program prepared youth of Sindh for career in the field of IT support, IT Automation, Data Analytics, Project Management, UX Design, Digital Marketing E-Commerce, Cyber security, Advance Data Analytics, and Advance Business Intelligence.
These scholarships offered to following individuals:
- 18+ years old (Preferably females)
- Preferably belong from underserved areas.
- Graduated or in last semester of college/university
- Looking for job in next 6 months.
The total scholarship offered by Google was up to 5,000 under partnership with multiple Departments/organizations of Sindh, total training hours for each certification was 160 hours within the period of four months. Graduates of the Google Career Certificates Program have received top-quality training and have acquired the latest industry-relevant skills. These graduates are job-ready and equipped to excel in a variety of fields.
